Due to the disruption caused by COVID-19, the Isle of Man Government has set out a package of measures to support local businesses.
These packages include the Wage Support Scheme, Manx Earning Replacement Allowance (MERA), the Business Support Scheme and the National Insurance Holiday Scheme.
Please find below our guidance notes for each of the schemes.
We have been in contact with both the Department of Enterprise and Treasury. The Government is updating the schemes and support available daily and we are monitoring the announcements closely.
The Government set up a new application form to enable businesses to find out what schemes they may be eligible for, this can be found at www.gov.im/businessenquiry
There is currently some confusion regarding businesses being able to apply for both the business support scheme and the wage support scheme. As these schemes are run by different Government departments we have been unable to get a clear answer on this point yet. We therefore believe registering your interest is the key action to be taken now, as the wage support scheme applications are not available until 6 April, by which point we would hope to have clarity on the matter.
If you would like us to approach the IOM Government on your behalf or provide assistance with the application, please do not hesitate to get in touch with your usual contact here at Crowe or via our Contact Page.
