Crowe Dragons returned to winning ways against the early table toppers Island Tyres & Exhausts.
Beth Jones came from behind to win 3-1 against her old team mate Stephen Pitts to put the Dragons on track.
Shaun Wyllie for Island Exhausts levelled up the scores with a win for Exhausts with a hard fought 3-2 win over Dragon Mark Grace, Mark led twice in the game 1-0 and 2-1 but in the end fitness trumped experience as Wyllie dug deep to take the 4th and 5th games comfortably.
Jon Shepherd put the Dragons back on course with a resounding 45-15 victory against the ever green Les Callow making his first appearance of the season.
First and second string matches were played simultaneously and both matches went to 5, a win for Dragons would secure the bonus 25 points whereas two wins for Exhausts would see Dragons snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Fortunately both Dragons came out on top against their opponents.
Dave Hedley overcame Shaun Callow in a game that ebbed and flowed, Shaun took the early lead 1-0, Dave then took two close games to lead 2-1. Shaun then tied the game up to take the game to a tie break fifth which fell kindly to Dave Hedley for another B league win for the Dragons.
At first string there was a major upset with James Martin taking victory against the higher ranked Steve Baker who is back playing B league squash on the Island for the first time in many years. The A league captain Steve trailed twice at 1-0 and 2-1. Then after levelling the scores appeared to have all but secured the win when leading 8-1 in the fifth set, only for James Martin to rise like a phoenix to win the match 15-14 in what was the game of the night!
Dragons ultimately took the win 4-1 and 249-189 dropping only 1 point to propel the Dragons to the top of the table and 35 points clear of second place.
